POSITION SUMMARY

The Systems Administrator is responsible for the critical technology infrastructure upon which the company provides services and executes production processing. The Systems Administrator uses technology background, judgement, and discipline to ensure consistent, reliable, and high-quality performance of AgVantis’ information systems. The Systems Administrator is responsible for effective and responsive remediation of production disruptions and system unavailability and root cause analysis. The Systems Administrator will be able to effectively work in a team environment and be able to align to company strategic goals. Duties also include support of testing of the company business continuity and disaster recovery plans, participating in incident response and development technical expertise to keep up with new technologies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Install, configure, and maintain the components (hardware, software, and services) that support business processes and data center services.
  2. Identify and resolve problems, risks, and issues to maximize system production readiness and supportability.  Provide accurate and timely resolution of support tickets during on call rotation.
  3. Establish, monitor, and update performance baselines for the company information systems.
  4. Maintain documentation (hardware, software, information services, and their integration points) for the information system.
  5. Establishes, recommends enhancements of, and updates infrastructure processes and procedures to positively affect system performance and proactively identifies potential system improvements.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
  1. Participates in developing the information system architecture by providing input to budgets, technology road maps, and adoption of new technology to support future computing requirements.
  2. Works with the Manager of Infrastructure Solutions in developing, implementing, and testing the disaster recovery and business continuity processes.
  3. Undertakes training and goal setting to enhance career development and value as a member of the Infrastructure department.
  4. Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

- Education including a bachelor’s degree in computer science, data processing, mathematics, business administration, or a related field.
- System Administration experience of at least 5 years supporting Windows and/or Linux/Unix platforms.
- System Administration in cloud computing with a strong focus on backup and monitoring, particularly within the Azure Cloud environment.
- Knowledge of computer operations and system operations for business.
- Knowledge of Domain Controllers and Active Directory.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Endpoint Manager (Intune) MDM.
- Ability to interpret, follow, and establish procedures. 
- Ability to script routine tasks in PowerShell.
- Ability to work effectively with a team other SA’s and infrastructure team members.
- Ability to quickly analyze problem situations, determine priorities and decide on best course of action.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and all levels of management.
- Travel on a limited basis in performance of job.
- Regular attendance is required on this job, with the ability to work a full 8-hour day.
